Grand

The county T&F
championships came to a conclusion in
Scanlon Park last Sunday with St
Senan’s athletes again featuring in
many of the events, taking home another
42 medals. This has been one of our most
successful championships to date and
great credit to our coaches Brendan, Pam
and Stacey who with the assistance of
Bill Lacey have done a great job in
preparing the athletes.

Lassies
In the 80mH event first among the medals
events was the trio of Bronagh Kearns,
Aoife Butler and Orla Butler who had a
clean sweep in the U/13 race while

Rosanne was also among the medals in the

off the challenge of Aidan O’Dowd of

Dwyer win gold in the U/15 race, while
Daniel Davis won silver in the U/16
race. The field events saw Eoin McEvot

boys the squad of Darragh Dwyer, Luke

Me
and Robbie Magee
The combined 3000m team race, which was
the brainchild of Bill Lacey was a very
competitive affair with Mick Kelly and
Robbie Magee fighting out a duel to the
line with Kelly taking the win. Sean
Caulfield was well clear in 3rd
place, while Aidan Lanigan battled hard
to take 4th. Colin Butler
well also well place in 6th
with James Howley, PJ Dwyer and Nicholas
Halley also running well giving the club
the silver medal position in the team
event. Click on the picture to 'see how
they run...'.

Winners
All
Outside
of the medallists the club had lots of
athletes competing and we are very proud
of all those who took part and tried
their best. That’s what sport is all
about, train hard and your day will
come. Patience and perseverance as my
mother used to say, would bring a snail
to Jerusalem.

Good
Job Folks
Athletics is not just about the winners
and there were some brave runs by many
of our younger athletes so well done to
all who took part and keep up the hard
work, as they say in the Lotto, next
week “it could be you’. Thanks also
to our coaching staff, parents and
helpers not to mention our long
suffering bus driver Pat Duggan.
