2006 Leinster U14-U19 T&F Tullamore

Excellent Leinster Track and Field.
Eighty three athletes from County Kilkenny, with representatives from seven athletic clubs contested the finals of the under 14 to 19 track and field championships in Tullamore recently. They returned with 87 individual medals and remarkably 36 of those were for firsts in a variety of events. In addition eight silver and four bronze medals came via the under 15, 19 and 17 girls inter-county relay teams. All 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th placed athletes qualify to compete in the All-Ireland finals in Tullamore on Saturday and Sunday, 8th and 9th July. So some serious training will be needed to sharpen up the skills in preparation. Any qualifiers who are unable to compete because of other commitments should make their position known immediately to club officials. This information would allow lower placed athletes an opportunity to compete at this level and hence enhance their experience.
